SNOW DAY!

The kids were all happy because we finally had a snow day on Tuesday. It dumped about a foot of snow at our house.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Tanner in front of the Christmas tree tonight...

Shayli - same place.....

Riley too.

December already?

This was at the Ward Christmas party this past Friday night. It cracked me up that they both sat on Santa's lap together. Tanner wants a new wallet (full of money of coarse) and Shayli wants to be healthy and not be sick for the Holidays (she has a cold right now). Santa thought she would want a boyfriend but not even... However I know she likes someone...

O Christmas Tree... we decorated it with all red except for all of the handpainted ornaments- which my friends and I used to exchange and which I still paint every year for family and a few close friends.

This was a picture I took of the Ute Mountain at sunset last Tuesday on my way home from work. I happened to have my camera in the car and I pulled over to take this because it looked awesome!

Happy Thanksgiving- we went to my parent's in Farmington. It was fun to see everyone finally since it had been so long.

Fall into WINTER!

This is what we woke up to this morning....

Two days ago it was in the 70's.

Not done with soccer yet...

How could I forget... I thought soccer was done but then Shayli decided to play 2 games. Girls soccer isn't until spring but they started with some fall games. She is done now until spring. I'm ready for a break!

Master Bedroom Makeover

Our old purple room....

Our new room with white walls, brown and blue accents and new bedroom furniture.

I started with the paint on last Wednesday and was finished with the whole room late Friday night. Tanner helped me paint, it took 3 coats because of the purple. The hardest part after that was cleaning out stuff and moving the furniture around. Now that it is done I love it and think Glen even likes it way better than the purple (which we have had for a long time)!

Fall Soccer Season ends...

Riley throwing the ball in at the Grand Junction JV game

Riley at the GJ Varsity game

Tanner at the JV game the next day in Montrose - where the wind blew like crazy!

The fall colors were perfect but it was too rainy to stop and take pictures so these are from inside the car going 60 mph. Pretty good, huh?

This was on our drive home after the soccer games.

The LAST game- against Durango....we lost. They didn't have a great record but they play pretty well as a team.

Riley's last High School game. He is done! This was the varsity game against Durango-they lost. He probably played a total of one whole game if you combine all of the varsity games together. It was way frustrating and made me lose all respect for the coaches.

Homecoming Week- September 22 - 27

This was the soccer team at the homecoming parade- luckily I could get Riley (sitting on the left side) and Tanner (standing looking at me) both in one picture!

This was Shayli and her friend getting their "Game Faces" on for the Juniors vs. Seniors Powder Puff Game. Do they look tough or what?

This was at the actual game...It was supposed to be flag football---- not even. Shayli is in the middle going up against the really big senior girl. A junior player hurt her knee bad. I was grateful that Shayli wasn't hurt because she was on the field most of the game.

This was one of the homecoming soccer games played here. Do you think Riley has a hold of this player? What? They never called anything! It was a crazy game full of pushing and elbow throwing. Ah, soccer - gotta love it!

This was the same JV game. Tanner was controlling the ball. I wish you could see the white uniform up close. Talk about a muddy mess. They were covered by the end of the game!

Riley went with a girl he is friends with named Heather. She is fun and she goes to the church dances with Shayli and her friends (she is a non-member).

Shayli went with a friend too, his name is Wrangler. I call him Levi. Clever, huh?

This is Tanner's friend Kelsie. They aren't old enough to date but they went to eat and to the dance as friends with Shayli and her friends.

Fun times! There was so much going on- a parade, 4 soccer games, powder puff, a football game, and the dance. I think the week of Prom I'm leaving town!

SOCCER- the never ending season...

Tanner plays on JV - which is good since he is a freshman. (He's the one in white with his foot in the air, in case you wondered). He has played every game for most of the game. They went to GJ last week and play Farmington twice this week. They are both away games. He is doing great.

Riley is on Varsity....which is good and bad. (He is the one in orange)l He loves it but he has hardly played. So the last two JV games he has helped them out and played most of those games. They only have three subs so they have needed him. He lives for soccer!
What can I say-I wish all coaches were fair..... never happens!

BACK TO SCHOOL- Sept 2nd

They all had to be up to be at early morning Seminary by 6:30 am. It has been non-stop since. With Seminary, School, and Soccer. Tanner was amazingly awake for the first day but I think it has been very exhausting trying to keep up with it all.

Shayli has been busy with her hard classes and being Junior Class President. She got her drivers license yesterday. She is excited to get to drive to school. :)
(Good for her more grey hair for me!)

As for Riley, you can tell he was so thrilled to be awake so early. He would rather sleep in! He should be pumped since he is a Senior. He is still getting some of his classes situated but I think he is going to have a fairly easy year- class wise.

2007 What a Year!

Riley's Eagle Court of Honor was on January 27th. He was excited and emotional. It was a great evening and we are so proud of his accomplishment. We appreciate all of the help he was given with all of his scouting. Thank you to all of those who attended and made it such a special night!

This was our amazing trip we took to Hawaii. We went there the last part of March and the first part of April for 12 days! It was so much fun and no one wanted to come home. This was on Oahu at the Temple there. It was so lush and green and the grounds are beautiful. We also visited BYU Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center this same day.

This was also on Oahu, it was at the Punch Bowl with Waikiki behind us. The kids thought this was pretty cool.

This was on the Big Island- our last Island. On Easter Sunday we spent time with the President and Sister Veloria. They are amazing people who feed us an awesome meal! They took us into their home and made us feel so welcome! He was the Bishop in this area when Glen served his mission back in 1978.

This was at Haleakala National Park on Maui. There were so many neat things to see. This was the entrance. You actual travel up a winding road that takes you above the clouds where was saw all of these amazing Volcanoes and views.

Body surfing on the Maui. Glen and the kids had so much fun. They loved the beaches and body surfed or went snorkling! We whale watched (at least I did). We also went to a Sugar Cane Plantation. It had the most beautiful beaches!

This was on Oahu also. The Arizona Memorial on one of our first days there. We had a great time and also toured the Missouri Battleship. After that we picked oysters for pearls. The kids had a blast. They all have pearls from Hawaii.

This was also at the Arizona Memorial. You can see it behind us. It is one of the few pictures we have with all of us in it. As you can tell it was sunny and bright (thus we are squinting!) The memorial was so peaceful and it was amazing to see the ship just below the surface of the water.

Tanner's Eagle Scout Court of Honor was on November 9th. Tanner was so excited to get this because he worked hard. He was only 13 1/2 when he earned his Eagle- which is neat. It took a little while to get everything together for the actual Court of Honor. He loves Scouts and plans to get as many merit badges as possible. He currently has 51 (as of Sept 2008).
This is just a brief look at last year. I started the blog then but didn't do much with it. After seeing several blogs I have gotten really motivated to keep up on this so I can share it with my extended family! That is why I went back through 2007 to highlight some important events. It has been fun!
